Weight Management
My special scientific interest is in body composition and the influence of what has most recently been described as endocrine organ visceral fat. Visceral fat play an important role in not only the development of metabolic disorders, but also plays a part in our general well-being, hormone balance and therefore our overall health. I am interested in the most recent discoveries in this field and I bring this knowledge into my practice as a health advice consultant.
When I develop the individually tailored health advice programmes for my clients, I use the most advanced diet and lifestyle technologies such as a very low calorie diet (VLCT), low carbohydrate diet and visceral fat control diet.
Since the past few years I have been working with Professor Jimmy Bell, who is the visiting professor at Imperial College London. Prof Bell was the first to develop the MRI diagnostic of visceral fat and has more than 250 publications related to this area. Furthermore, he coined the term TOFY (thin outside fat inside) in clinical practice. Prof Bell’s method was used by a
group of researches to develop the Newcastle, Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD).
When required, I work with the treating doctor or the medical team of my clients, as some diets have to be controlled and supervised by medical professionals. It is important to note that I do not practice clinical consultancy. I involve clinical professionals in my coaching when
needed, or as soon as I have identified any potential health issues in a client.
